In August, we’ll learn how people count different kinds of butterflies at Nosterfield Nature Reserve.
Ringlet Whitfield Benson
We’ll join one of our volunteers to learn about different kinds of butterflies, then go on a butterfly walk to spot them!
We’ll walk about 1.5 miles around Nosterfield Quarry on mostly flat paths, keeping our eyes open for butterflies along the way.
This is a great way to find out more about these fascinating and beautiful insects. You’ll also be contributing to important records by monitoring butterfly species and numbers.

To find the visitor centre, turn right off the B6267, just before you enter the village of Nosterfield as you head in the direction of Masham. It has a stone 'Nosterfield Quarry' sign marking the turning. It is then an immediate left turn into the car park.
Activities are weather dependent and may need to change if conditions are not suitable on the day
