Join us on 12th September, building dead hedges and making log piles in the woodland around Kiln Lake.

For the next community work day we will be clearing up after recent felling work in the woodland around Nosterfield Quarry. The brash and logs will be used to create dead hedges & log piles which will create homes for invertebrates, small mammals, birds and reptiles. The work in the woodland has been carried out to open up densely planted areas and create glades.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Well Wetlands Plant Nursery at 10:00am (see map and address below).

Please walk if possible, those that cannot, or live further afield, please park in the Tarmac Quarry Visitor Centre car park and take the footpath through to Flask Lane. There will be signs directing you to the plant nursery from the car park.

EVENT DETAILS

• The event is taking place on Saturday 12th September, from 10:00am until 1pm

• All ages welcome! Children aged 13 and under need to be accompanied by an adult please.

• Gloves & equipment will be provided

• Wear sturdy footwear and clothes that are suitable for the weather conditions and that you don't mind getting dirty

• Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided during the session

• Nosterfield Quarry car park address: It's a right turn off the B6267, just before you enter the village of Nosterfield as you head in the direction of Masham. It has a stone 'Nosterfield Quarry' sign marking the turning, then it's an immediate left turn into the car park
