Bird Ringing & Moth Morning at Nosterfield Nature Reserve PLUS Optics Event

Mothing is sadly cancelled due to bad weather.

Bird ringing WILL still be going ahead but please arrive early as wind may stop play later on in the morning!

Get a closer look at the wildlife that calls Nosterfield Nature Reserve it’s home - All ages welcome!

We’re bringing you a double whammy of Nosterfield nature! You’ll have the chance to see bird ringing in action, as well get an up close look at a fascinating array of moths.

Bird ringing will be taking place by the dipping pond on the main reserve. Park in the Nosterfield Nature Reserve car park and follow signs - starting 8am.

Moth traps will be set overnight and opened in the morning. We’ll be by the hide in the Nosterfield Nature Reserve car park - starting 8am.

Grovers of Northallerton Optics Shop will also be holding an optics event in the Nosterfield Nature Reserve car park from 10:30 onwards.

Event Details

  • The event is taking place on Saturday, 2nd October 2021, from 8am until around 12pm. Drop-in any time.

  • Suitable for all ages!

  • £Free

  • This event is weather dependent. If there is heavy rain or wind forecast, we may not go ahead. Please check the website or twitter for updates before arrival.
