VISITOR EXPERIENCE
Well Wetlands project
A visit to Nosterfield Nature Reserve is an opportunity to get closer to nature in a beautiful setting.
Support from the Well Wetlands project has provided resources so that you can now develop a deeper connection with the unique natural heritage at this incredibly special place.
Engaging with nature
Thanks to this project, we’re able to share with you even more about Nosterfield and the rare species found here.
When you visit for an enjoyable walk or a bit of bird spotting, look out for our new interpretation boards, leaflet and site map for a chance to learn more about different habitats and wildlife.
Our free events have given hundreds of people of all ages a chance to get hands-on with their local wildlife. Training sessions, regular ‘muck-in’ days and a bio-blitz have all helped our visitors gain new conservation skills and connect with nature. Looking ahead our new grant from the Green Recovery Challenge Fund will be helping to offer more family volunteering opportunities.
Searching for treasure
When you venture out into Nosterfield Nature Reserve and Quarry you’ll find treasure hidden in the landscape!
As part of the Well Wetlands project, we’ve installed a series of 12 geocaches for you to discover.
This electronic treasure hunt takes you across the full range of stunning environments and precious habitats found here.
Hidden in a range of quirky containers and accessible all year around, our geocaches are a fun challenge and a great way to experience the different seasons and a wide variety of wildlife at Nosterfield.
“What a smashing set of caches in a wonderful location.” - Geocache Log
