Supported by Ripon City Council, LUCT have been working at Quarry Moor in Ripon. One of the key tasks that we are working on at the moment is pulling up Himalayan balsam; a tall, non-native weed that spreads quickly and crowds out native plants.
We would love to have your help as we work on this!
On 15th July, from 10am -2pm we’ll be having a bonus community work day where we’ll be pulling up balsam at Quarry Moor.
Gloves and equipment will be provided.
What you will need:
Please wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Please wear long sleeves and trousers to help protect from nettle stings.
A cold drink and a packed lunch
Where to meet:
Please meet at Quarry Moor Car Park (located off the Harrogate Road roundabout, HG4 3AG)
