Join Keith Gittens, British Dragonfly Society Recorder for North West and North East Yorkshire, Yorkshire Naturalists Union Odonata Recorder and Chairman of the Yorkshire Dragonfly Group on a fascinating dragonfly walk at Nosterfield Quarry. We’ll be exploring Flasks fen to find out more about the dragonfly and damselfly species that can be found there at this time of year*
What you will need:
Please wear sturdy footwear as we will be walking up to 2 miles on ground that is uneven in places.
Please wear clothing suitable for the weather conditions, including a sunhat and suncream if the weather is warm.
Please bring along a drink or flask.
Please bring binoculars if you have them.
Where to meet:
Tarmac Visitor Centre car park at 10am
To find the Tarmac Visitor Centre car park, turn right off the B6267, just before you enter the village of Nosterfield as you head in the direction of Masham. It has a stone 'Nosterfield Quarry' sign marking the turning. It is then an immediate left turn into the car park.
Use What3Words: deliver.chuck.reject for the exact car park location on a map.
