Community Work Day

CREATING SANDBAGS PLANTERS

WHAT WE’LL BE DOING:

We will be creating sand bag planters filled with lesser reedmace which will be planted out in deep water once the bags have rooted in a few weeks. They will become part of our developing fen creation project on the shores of Flasks lake. The new habitat we create will provide homes for birds, fish and invertebrates for years to come, and may in time even attract rare species such as common crane and spotted crake!

WHERE TO MEET:

We’ll be meeting at the Well Wetlands Plant Nursery at 10:00am (see map and addresses below). Please walk if possible, those that cannot, or live further afield, please park in the Tarmac Quarry Visitor Centre car park and take the footpath through to Flask Lane. There will be signs directing you to the plant nursery from the car park.
