Community Work Day

Help us with some reedbed management at Nosterfield Quarry to help give bitterns a home!

We’ll be spending the day widening some of the channels in our reedbed to maintain good breeding habitat for bittern. We’ll have a bonfire for the cuttings so the work will involve raking up reeds and looking after the fire.

We’ll be meeting at the Well Wetlands Plant Nursery at 10:00am (see map and address below). Please walk if possible, those that cannot, or live further afield, please park in the Tarmac Quarry Visitor Centre car park and take the footpath through to Flask Lane. There will be signs directing you to the plant nursery from the car park.
