Spiders at Nosterfield Nature Reserve

In this fascinating, two hour session you will find out:


  • how to identify spider species

  • which habitats to look out for

  • how to capture spiders in order to take a closer look and identify species

  • Looking at specimens to help develop identification skills

We’ll also have a walk on the main reserve to look for spiders.

What you will need

Please wear sturdy footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.

‍A hand lens would be useful, if you have one.

‍ Please be aware that there are no toilet facilities on the main reserve. The nearest toilet is a short drive (1 mile) away at the Quarry Visitor Centre.

‍ ‍The event may need to be cancelled in the event of poor weather. If this is the case, we will inform you by email the evening before.
